Area Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty vehicles have been smeared with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to authorities.
Cars, exterior walls and postal boxes were marked, in some cases with swastikas, they stated in a official communication.
Law enforcement report they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday, when a resident observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish fluid.
The substance had been placed in the shape of a swastika, they stated.
Law enforcement then found many other vandalized automobiles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Officials report preliminary tests suggest the fluid was most likely human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no indication as to where it came from; officials are currently not aware of any physical harm in association with the event," they commented.
Local authorities said they were trying "to resolve the incident" and have asked to the residents for details.
An important official commented the attack made him without words and needed to be solved quickly.
"This incident affects the center of Hanau and revives the wounds of the far-right violent incident half a decade ago," he stated on online, referring to the killing of nine individuals by a shooter targeting people of immigrant origin in 2020.
